September 2016

November 28, 2016 by Sally Mortimore

This newsletter follows a good review from our work in Ealing by Ofsted – the IRO and Foster Carer review services were positively commented upon.

Newsletter
[Aidhour] Analysis and evaluation of performance are meticulous. Quality assurance, including case auditing, is robust and leads to sustained improvements.
Ofsted
[Ealing Council, IRO client] “IROs provide good quality written records following each review. IROs bring additional safeguarding scrutiny by monitoring children’s progress between reviews. The timeliness of LAC reviews and the level of participation by children in their reviews, both at 96%, are very good”.
Ofsted, October 2018
[Brent Council, IRO client] There is good evidence of IRO scrutiny and challenge with good impact.
Ofsted, May 2018
[Aidhour] A group of strong, committed and experienced independent reviewing officers act as passionate advocates for children.
Ofsted
[City of London Corporation, Annual Audit client] Audit arrangements for the provision of services to care leavers are good. Audits are effective tools in identifying the difference that practice has made to improve outcomes for young people. They are qualitatively focused as well as compliance focused…”
Ofsted, October 2018
Regular visits and reports from the independent visitor (Aidhour) have offered an important source of scrutiny and challenge for the interim manager. She recently helped to simplify the consultation papers, which are now widely used by young people.
Ofsted Inspection Report
[Aidhour Associate] is thorough but fair, and has a lovely way of engaging with our most challenging young people, and interacting with the staff. We appreciate her advice and she is approachable. I have found the Director to be responsive and cooperative to any contact or request I make and I have never had any cause to raise any issue of concern or to make a complaint. Aidhour have kept within our agreed budget limits.
Head of Children’s Safeguarding, County Council
Aidhour were professional in their approach to the tendering process and we negotiated a contract with minimal problem.
Head of Children’s Safeguarding, County Council
It has been such a pleasure to work with Aidhour on this case. The IRO’s observations, pointing out things that were not going right, insistence to ensure they are worked on and openness in approach, taught me a lot. Thank you!
Independent Social Worker
The local authority have recently acquired the services of a new independent person (Aidhour) to undertake the monitoring inspections of the home. As a result the quality of external monitoring has improved and provides a greater critique of the quality of care provided.
